「The World is filled with Goodness, Beauty and Meaning.」There is no way to prove this statement – we will have to accept it by pure faith.
“People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonance within our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive. That’s what it’s all finally about.” – Joseph Campbell, The Power of Myth (Episode 2, Chapter 4)
If we see ourselves as Evil and not Good, then we will condemn ourselves.
If we see ourselves as Ugly and not Beautiful, then we will reject ourselves.
If we see ourselves as Worthless and not Treasured (Meaningful), then we will desecrate ourselves.
If we see ourselves as Fake and not Authentic, then we will hide ourselves.
Because we believed in our own lies, we have lost our ability to trust Life, our ability to dream great visions and our ability to use the instrument which we call our physical body.
Because we believed in our own lies, we have lost the spiritual links between each other and our ability to commune with Nature.
We often feel stressed and anxious; in this sense we have lost part of our Humanity. In other words, we do not truly feel that we are living on Planet Earth and thriving within this physical world. Instead, we are only struggling to survive.
This article uses the term “belief” because we are actually living within our own thoughts and using these thoughts as our foundation to “understand” our world. What we can do now is to believe that the time has come for us to retake our true selves.
We are part of the world, and how we perceive the world is how we perceive ourselves. Only when we believe that this world will assist us to completely experience Life, only when we believe that this world is our ally and not our enemy, then will we be able to rely on our ally’s help begin healing our inner world.
In the 21st century, Humanity’s biggest struggle is not choosing between Good and Evil, but choosing between the Human Spirit and Empty Materialism. Keep the flame of Humanity alive, otherwise we will all be assimilated by technology.
In the 21st century, our calling is no longer about striving to choose a single cause, tradition, religion, ideology or guru, and then dedicating our entire life to it. Instead, we are to strive to become aware our true spirituality, for it is how we can become a complete human being in an era that constantly denies our Humanity.
This is not the time to limit ourselves by closing our minds to the diverse works, thoughts and efforts of countless people. As we explore our own selves, we will come to realize that our choices are not merely polar opposites, and that they are part of the process of our Becoming.
The Humanity within each of us is precious; it is the duty of every one of us to ensure that this flame will continue to burn throughout this era and far into the future.
